Background and Established Research

I am an I am an epidemiologist, researcher, and writer with an established background in public health, epidemiology, oral pathology, oral medicine, and bioethics. My scholarly work includes 98 peer-reviewed scientific publications, the book Oral Health Epidemiology: Principles and Practice, and book chapters.

My professional experience spans international work in academia; federal, state, and city governments; the pharmaceutical industry; medical writing and publishing; and nongovernmental organizations, charitable centers, and clinics.

My work brings together scientific evidence, research methodology, and critical appraisal to examine questions concerning health, disease, and healthcare.

Current Research and Writing

My current interests increasingly emphasize critical reviews, evidence synthesis, theoretical and conceptual analysis, and interdisciplinary inquiry. I remain engaged with health sciences and bioethics while exploring how evidence is interpreted, how explanations are developed, and where important questions remain unresolved.

Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Inquiry

My developing philosophical work concerns mind and consciousness, including the relationship between brain processes and subjective experience. I am also exploring Hindu and Indian philosophical traditions, their historical and conceptual foundations, and their relationship to contemporary philosophical debates.

My broader interests include metaphysics, the foundations and limits of scientific explanation, and philosophical questions about the nature and origin of the universe. I approach these subjects through careful inquiry, distinguishing empirical findings, philosophical arguments, and questions that remain open.

Consulting and Collaboration

Alongside my scholarship, I offer consulting support in public health, research design and analysis, program evaluation, scientific writing, and training. I welcome opportunities to work with organizations, researchers, and individuals on projects that benefit from methodological care, critical thinking, and clear communication.

I also welcome enquiries concerning commissioned research and writing, philosophical essays, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Please use the Contact page to discuss a potential project.
